Evolutionary Psychology:
Understanding the Working Being in Context

Evolutionary Psychology (ev psych) provides a systems approach to human beings and the environments within which they work. This makes ev psych particularly well suited to understanding markets, organizations and individuals, especially those you hire.

From the standpoint of Venture Integration, ev psych is used to identify motivations and priorities. This allows you to identify the offering to the market that will attract the most attention. It will help you determine what kinds of people will succeed in which kinds of tasks. You can figure out which parts of the human mind to turn on when you need them, or turn them off to keep them from creating barriers to your goals.

The objective in the use of ev psych in business is to structure a working environment that reliably leads every individual in your organization to success. This is the function of corporate culture. Cultures always form. If allowed to evolve without sustained direction, a culture full of unproductive and inefficient work habits, methods, and procedures will dominate your organization's activities. That would be bad Venture Integration, indeed.

To the right you will find links to four reprints from The Quarterly Journal of the Washington Academy of Sciences on ev psych in the work place. They are just a start. Please download them and spread them around as you see fit.
